2014 CASA Celebration of Children Black & White Ball

Elite OC ProductionsElite OC Productions was in charge of the entire production of the CASA Celebration of Children Black & White Ball held at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach. It included the planning and coordinating of all the events leading up to the ball, which showcased a Barbara Bui Kick-Off Fashion Show/Luncheon at AnQi Gourmet Bistro and an Underwriter’s Party at Lugano Diamonds.

Ball planning involved coordinating all the details with the event chairs, Lourdes Nark and Wendy Tenebaum, which included venue site visits and vendor visits to design the event layout. Weekly meetings were held with the chairs to present décor concepts, updates on sponsorships, ticket sales, etc.  Elite OC Productions presented décor and design concepts through a mock-up at the Island Hotel that reflected all the elements needed for the event and proposed ball entertainment and unique ideas to enhance the overall experience for guests.

After collaborating with the chairs on the ball design, Elite OC Productions began the process of selecting furnishings, accessories and other design elements in accordance with the allocated budget. They worked closely with the following vendors for the ball design: Youngsong Martin from Wildflower Linen, who decorated the ballroom in black, white and gold. There was a mix of table designs, which featured a variety of linens, chair covers, centerpieces, and chargers. Brite Ideas was the AV/Lighting Company. Paul Fenner was in charge of the floral centerpieces, which were featured both high and low and filled with candles. Room & Board transformed the silent auction area into a party lounge and, later during dinner, Elite OC Productions replaced the silent auction with Room & Board furniture and tequila , vodka and beer bars and a DJ for the after-party.

Elite OC Productions designed the invitations, signage, save the dates, menus, table numbers, VIP place cards, and all printed materials, as well as managed the layout, event timeline, production timeline, and script, with assistance in managing the budget. They customized and designed the silent auction packaging and description boards to go with the event theme and provided the necessary displays for certain items. They also created email blasts leading up the event, which featured the best silent auction items to get guests excited about that was being offered and brought all of the silent auction items to the hotel to set-up the silent auction area. The event website was also created and managed by Elite OC Productions.

The event’s program powerpoint used inside the ballroom was created by Elite OC Productions as well as the electronic powerpoint, which, in lieu of a physical program booklet, looped during breaks in the program and during the cocktail reception. They called the show and were in charge of the entire program running smoothly. They also created the volunteer timeline and assisted with coordinating the volunteers. Elite OC Productions was in charge of the entire set-up and tear-down of the ball.

The Black & White Ball drew 450 guests and honored Lisa and Stephanie Argyros as CASA’s 2014 Children’s Champions, Larry Wilson as Advocate of the Year and Ty as Outstanding Youth. Also acknowledged were the Heart of CASA Children’s Champion honorees from 1994-2013. The keynote speaker was Vanessa Diffenbaugh, author of “The Language of Flowers,” with the Honorable Douglas J. Hatchimonji interviewing her. The master of ceremonies was Fred Port, and the entertainment featured Montage, the Orange County School of the Arts’ premier performing group, as well as actress/singer Gloria Loring.
