An Evening for Hope



Soccer for HopeLinda Young’s Elite OC Productions was in charge of the full production of the Soccer for Hope benefit, held at Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach. They coordinated every detail with the venue and nonprofit and brought in the needed vendors to make the benefit a success for the nonprofit and the 180 cocktail-attired guests attending.

Elite worked with the charity to determine the event colors, which were silver, teal and gray/graphite. The colors were carried out in the table linens, rentals and table centerpieces, which were industrial tin containers filled with an assortment of succulents. Elite organized the buffet-style dinner, consisting of a variety of pasta dishes and a mashed potato bar served in martini glasses with assorted toppings, with martinis and wines accompanying the repast.

Elite designed and organized the silent auction, packaged the 120 items and designed the description boards. They assisted with creating the live auction, the pledge levels and the sponsor powerpoints, which were displayed on video screens at the event. The Golden Ticket Opportunity was also organized by Elite, with guests purchasing a $100 ticket, hoping to win the right to select any one of the live auction items. Elite was in charge of the bid helpers for the entire night, including registration, the silent and live auctions, the Golden Ticket sales, check-out, and item pick-up.

In addition, Elite was in charge of the invitation, the reservations and the goody bags, which were assembled by the Elite staff as the guest favor for the night.

The evening realized net proceeds of $140,000, which are targeted for cancer research at Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

A Gatsby Inspired Gala to celebrate Friendship Shelter’s 25th Anniversary



Friendship ShelterLinda Young’s Elite OC Productions partnered with Friendship Shelter to design and create a beautiful Great Gatsby-themed dinner dance. Held at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, 430 guests, many of them in Gatsby attire, gathered to support the cause.

Elite met with Friendship Shelter staff and event chairs Keiko Sakamoto and Faye Hezar to advise and help facilitate the fundraiser, including registration, the silent and live auctions, fund-a-need, check-out, and item pick-up. Other party items addressed were the wine upgrades, Heads or Tails Game, photo opportunity, the 1920’s flapper dancing entertainment, the dinner, and dancing.

Elite met with Friendship Shelter and the bid helpers to go over the entire event timeline and process of registration, the auctions, fund-a-need, and item pick-up in full detail. The silent and live auction items were inventoried by Elite and picked up and brought to their office to package. Elite designed and set-up the entire silent auction area, incorporating pearls and diamonds with the décor to go with the theme. Details included creating the description boards and baskets to coincide with the Gatsby theme, making flapper headbands for the boards and black bows with white feathers for the baskets. They also created the live auction powerpoint, which included all the live auction descriptions and photos to show during the gala. Elite created signage for the live auction categories, packaged and labeled the items and transported them to the hotel. They assisted with the management of the volunteers for registration, the silent and live auctions, find-a-need, check-out and item pick-up.

In an innovative touch, Elite created silent auction email blasts that featured some of the best items. They were sent every couple of days two weeks before the event by Friendship Shelter personnel to the nonprofit’s entire database. The excitement generated helped with auction sales at the party. The fundraiser raised more than $420,000 for the Laguna Beach nonprofit.
