CASA’s “Friends, Fashion and Fun” Event

CASA Family, Friends & Fun Fashion ShowElite OC Productions, responsible for the concept, planning and implementation of each Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) event, brought together three distinctive parts of the overall “friendraising”/fundraising event, which was designed to garner support for CASA’s upcoming Celebration of Children Black & White Ball. Held at South Coast Plaza, the first part of the day was a champagne reception at Jo Malone, with the famous scent maker’s associates giving complimentary whiffs of the tantalizing fragrances.

Next, guests attended a spectacular fashion show and sit-down luncheon at AnQi at Crustacean. Elite was responsible for hiring a professional photographer, guest check-in, the room set-up, the handsome bare-chested male models selling raffle tickets, the raffle display, the dancers from Asher Entertainment, the coordination of the fashion show with Barbara Bui and MaxMara, including hiring of the models, lighting, sound and music, as well as the script used at the event for co-chairs and CASA spokespersons.

The final phase of the day included shopping at Barbara Bui and MaxMara, where guests were treated to champagne and delectable desserts. An estimated 200 guests attended the event, with 20% of sales targeted for CASA’s advocate program for severely abused, abandoned and neglected children.

Memorable Monday: Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ Candlelight Concert

Candlelight Concert 2012 - Segerstrom Center for the ArtsLinda Young’s Elite OC Productions featured the Candlelight Concert’s “Live the Arts” theme in a series of vignettes showcasing the many facets that have made the Segerstrom Center for the Arts one of the most respected cultural institutions in the country.

With a palette of jewel tones shown throughout the evening, i.e. emerald, amethyst, ruby, and sapphire – upon arrival, guests walked the red carpet past lit trees of ruby and emerald to find violinists performing, representing the Center’s Chamber Series and the Center’s partner, the Orange County Pacific Symphony. Amethyst and emerald velvet draperies were the backdrop.

Next, guests walked up the grand staircase filled with young ballerinas practicing their ballet positions, representing the Center’s educational outreach.  The reception area at the top of the stairs featured dual pianists performing cabaret and jazz, two more of the Center’s offerings, against a backdrop of ruby velvet draperies and Louis XV-style furniture. Upon entering the performance hall at the fifth tier level, the Center’s Broadway Series was represented by huge posters of various shows hung against sapphire velvet draperies.

The 450 guests were seated for dinner and the show at tiered tables leading down to center stage covered in either gold sequins or gold crinkle linen and featuring centerpieces of either gold roses, ruby tulips and hydrangeas, amethyst lilies, or gold succulents and sapphire holly. Each centerpiece was wrapped in its corresponding color of taffeta and secured by crystal brooches, and guests were seated on either ruby, amethyst, sapphire, or emerald velvet chairs.

The Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ logo, the proscenium arch, took the entire center stage in a huge gold paillette chain, and the stunning draped crystal chandeliers, made from gold dupioni banded in gold and diamond ribbon, were the final touch in the gala décor.

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Dream Gala

549716_560488493985811_1592736810_nElite OC Productions designed and created the décor elements for the JDRF black-tie gala, themed “Lighting the Way to a Cure.” Held at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, Elite presented their designs for the gala to the gala committee via story boards, showcasing the décor elements, and later arranged for a full mock-up at the hotel of different table designs, including linens and chairs, with multiple florists showcasing their designs.

A black, white, yellow, and platinum color scheme was incorporated throughout the event, with the use of chandeliers as a major décor element. A 15-foot three-tiered glass case glittering with three sparkling crystal chandeliers was featured on the terrace during the reception, while the ballroom’s huge crystal chandeliers were banded in burnished yellow dupioni silk. Dinner tables were centered with a profusion of white flowers, with a touch of yellow, and various tables were centered by a four-foot black candelabra with white tapers and yellow electric flickers. The table linens were a mixture of black, platinum and a stunning dahlia print incorporating all of the signature colors. Elite assisted with the rentals, created and implemented the silent auction décor and signage, as well as the registration design and décor.

The gala drew 370 guests and garnered net proceeds of $450,000, which was designated for type 1 diabetes treatment and research.
